Post It & Post 1.1

Post-It is our class blog assignment.

Its purpose is to encourage ongoing reflection on required readings, help you organize your homework and track the progress of your analysis and provide an opportunity for input from peers and dialog with the instructor.

1) You will create your own blog through blogger and then send me the url, which I will post for all students to access.
2) You will complete the weekly "Post It" writings or 350 words by Monday at 5pm. (The exception is the first post, which is due on Wed.)
3) You will comment on your group members' posts with a question or comment (3-5 sentences) before class.

Post 1.1
- Through a visual collage and/or written description, introduce yourself to your classmates. (by 5pm Wed!)

*See example below and feel free to get a head start. Note that your collage doesn't need to be the same. You could choose to only write or upload one or two pictures instead of the way I did it, using "Paint".

Post 1.1 Katie's Example

Hi. My name is Katie O'Donnell Christoffersen, and I will be your instructor this year in English 101! I just got married this summer, so you probably haven't seen my new last name yet. Don't worry. You're in the right section. You can feel free to call me Katie, Mrs. C, or Mrs. Chris. I know that Christoffersen is quite a long one. ;o)

I'm a PhD student in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching, and I've been teaching in the Writing Program for 2 years now. I really enjoy helping students to express themselves clearly and authentically in their writing as well as challenging students to "think critically." We'll talk more about that in class.

Take a look at the visual collage I put together for you, which includes pictures of my new husband, my parents and brother, my puppy Shaya and some activities I enjoy. You'll get a chance to do the same for your first assignment due on Wed. Aug. 25 by 5pm. Read the instructions and feel free to work ahead.
